Now though i cant desolder the power jack from the board. Unscrew the screw pull the drive off and after that seat it back. But now i have another problem, the notebook i disassembled is a HP Pavillion DV eo and i tried switching motherboards between that and another laptop, it didnt work so i changed back, when i took the old motherboard and had assembled the entire laptop again it didnt start either, any idea why it wont start? Its battery is dead and need replacement. Thanks for the detailed how-to. My question is the heat sink compound was only on the CPU area.

You just grab the brown piece with your fingernails and pull it from the white base. When it says Started, try installing one of the two audio drivers again.
It was over heating because the fan did not work any more. Hp dv audio 4 of 20 6, Paviluon. This is what has happened to both ports.
But most of the discussion talks about Realtek sound. Did you install the CPU correctly?
So I followed all the steps to clean the fan. I checked and double checked the only audio cable, shown in step 22 sund. The problem is becoming progressively worse and I currently own a rock.

I have the same question 7. I tried reinstalling drivers, removing entries from the device manager, run winsock fix but nothing helped. When Pavipion start comp, DVD drive is running and green control light up but after Windows start, it is completely gone. Yesterday I disassembled it to clean the fan.
If it doesn’t, let me know what it says and try right-clicking it and clicking Start. Could the dv65000 card be broken or whatelse?

When I was using it the other day it powered off and would not come back on. Try the above mentioned fix from Microsoft.
