I did a search for similar issues, and I found the following post: Asus, Linux, Attansic, and Atheros are registered trademarks of the respective companies. I rolled back to the previous Atheros L1 Gigabit driver version 2.

Cenamderi Replied on December 20, Mine will only break if I pull alot of data-speedtest. This is a vendor version of the L1 driver.
I have not yet figured out if it is triggered by the amount of data, or at different times, but I do know that a significant amount of data traffic through connection will crash it. There is a bug in the driver that causes memory corruption during the atansic of the interface if and only if you have 4GB or more RAM in your system and your system utilizes all that memory. It has been backported to 2.
